Saint Heribert of Cologne contributed to the political ideas of Otto for the renewal of his kingdom. In 999, he became Archbishop of Cologne. Heribert was devoted to the administration of his episcopate, which was founded through an agreement with Otto in 1002. He reposed in 1021. His memory is honoured by the Church on the 30th of August.

Saint Heribert of Cologne was born in Worms in the year 970 AD. He was educated in the cathedral school of Worms and at the convent of Gorze. Heribert contributed to the political ideas of Otto for the renewal of his kingdom. In 999, Heribert became Archbishop of Cologne. In 1002, he accompanied the body of the recently deceased Otto and the imperial insignia despite the continuous attacks of the Italians at Aachen. Heribert was devoted to the administration of his episcopate, which was founded through an agreement with Otto in 1002. He reposed on the 16th of March in 1021. On the 30th of August, 1147, the bones of Saint Heribert were formally interred. From that day on, his memory has been honoured on the 30th of August. Work of iconographer Lazaros Pechlivanidis.
