Saint Porphyrios became a monk at the age of fourteen years old on Mount Athos and eventually a monk of the Great Schema. He was ordained to the priesthood at Saint Charalampus in Kyme. At twenty-two years old, he was given the blessing to hear confessions and a little later, elevated to archimandrite. Laying the foundation of the Catholicon church of the Monastery of the Transfiguration, he saw his dream become reality. His memory is honoured on the 2nd of December.

Saint Porphyrios was born on the 7th of February, 1906 AD in Evia, Greece. he became a monk at the age of fourteen years old on Mount Athos and eventually a monk of the Great Schema. Sometime later, God granted him the gift of clairvoyance. At nineteen years old, he became gravely ill, which forced him to leave Mount Athos forever. He returned to Evia, where he resided in the Monastery of Saint Charalampus in Lefka. A year later, in 1926 AD, at the age of twenty years old, he was ordained to the priesthood at Saint Charalampus in Kyme. At twenty-two years old, he was given the blessing to hear confessions and a little later, elevated to archimandrite. In the summer of 1979 AD, he moved to Milesi, with the dream of building a monastery. Laying the foundation of the Catholicon church of the Monastery of the Transfiguration on February 26th, 1990, he was accounted worthy to see his dream become reality. Indeed, in the June of the next year, sensing his impending death, he departed for the hut of Saint George in Kafsokalyvia of Mount Athos, where he gave up his spirit to God.
