Saint Helen was born 247 AD in Drepano of Bithania and was the mother of Constantine the Great. The Christian Church honours both her and her son as equals-to-the-Apostles. She decided go on a journey to find the Lord’s tomb and the crosses on which Christ and the two thieves were crucified. She found the Holy Cross and then funded the construction of Christian churches throughout the Roman Empire. She died around the year 237 AD at the age of 80 years old. The relics of Saint Helen are found in Venice. She is considered the patron saint of spouses. The Church celebrates the memory of Saint Helen and her son on the 21st of May.
