Saint Nina was born in Cappadocia and was the daughter of Zaboulon, the renowned solider of Maximillian. Her mother, Suzanna, along with Zaboulon, gave Nina over to the tutelage of a pious old woman named Nianfora. Saint Nina prayed to the Theotokos that she would allow her to find the robe of Christ. Thus, with a miracle-working Cross in her hand for protection, she set off for Mtskheta in Iberia (Georgia). She preached the Gospel there in the 3rd century AD. She found the Holy Robe and, on that spot, she a had a church built for the Holy Pillar. After Saint Nina had reposed in peace, her holy remains were found to be incorrupt. Pieces of her Relics can be found at the Church of Saint Marina in Thessaloniki as well as the Kykkos Monastery in Cyprus. Her memory is celebrated on the 14th of January.
